Can't believe it's been 7.5 years...

In December of 2017 I released a YouTube video with easy writing tips to keep people reading your online content.

Then I immediately forgot about it, but it's gone on to almost 100,000 views, including thousands RECENTLY.

(Think about that, a video I released in 2017 is still getting thousands of views).

So because people are still finding the tips helpful I figured I'd share them again here:

1) Don't write out numbers. Use the actual digits because it's easier for the reader to skim (I did it in the first sentence of this email).

2) Capitalize important words. We don't have access to bold, italics or other formatting in a lot of places, so capitalizing even the First Letter of a word can show emphasis.

3) Use #hashtags for emphasis. On many platforms, anything with a hashtag shows up in bold or another color.

(Keep it to single words, #noneofthisnonsenseokay?).

4) Use lots of line breaks. Call us lazy, but as humans we won't read big, long paragraphs of content we're not already into because it looks exhausting.

5) Use emojis. Don't abuse it, but if nothing else they can add fun, feeling and some color to otherwise black text.
